Aikido of Austin's chief instructor -- Josef Birdsong -- has taught classes at Austin Community College (ACC) for more than 18 years. Once again, ACC has agreed to allow Birdsong Sensei to teach his college Aikido and yoga classes at the Aikido of Austin dojo.

Spring Semester 2010

Below is a list of classes with the SYN #’s you will need in order to enroll at ACC.

16 Week Jan. 19- May 16

• Aikido 1 SYN # 03356 Monday-Wednesday 1:25-2:40PM
• Aikido 2 SYN # 07940 Monday- Wednesday 1:25-2:40PM
• Yoga 1 SYN # 07910 Saturday 1:00-3:40PM

12 Week Feb. 15-May 16

• Aikido 1 SYN # 03458 Tuesday-Thursday 2:00-3:40
• Aikido 2 SYN # 03470 Tuesday-Thursday 2:00-3:40
• Weight Training 1 SYN # 03461 Tuesday-Thursday 8:50-10:30

New students may register beginning November 9

Students new to ACC and those who have not yet registered If you register between:

12 week class starting Feb. 15 may enroll now and until Feb. 10.
Enroll early classes fill quickly.

If you've never taken an Aikido class before but are interested, taking an Aikido course with Birdsong Sensei through ACC gives you an opportunity to try Aikido at a cost lower than the regular beginners' program tuition. (If you are not already an ACC student, you will need to enroll before signing up for these classes. Additional ACC enrollment fees may apply.)

High school juniors and seniors may register free! (Call ACC for more details.)

Current Aikido of Austin students are also welcome to sign up for these courses, and may deduct the cost of the class from their regular monthly dues. (If possible, please prorate your ACC tuition deduction. Talk to Nancy for more details.) Aikido of Austin students who cannot make it to the scheduled classes may substitute their regular class hours.
