Fall Seminar

Aikido of Austin is pleased to host guest instructor Rock Lazo Sensei of the Midwest Aikido Center (MAC) for our Fall Seminar. Aikido of Austin chief instructor -- Josef Birdsong Sensei -- will also teach.

Rock Lazo started his study of Aikido in 1982 under Akira Tohei Shihan at the MAC, and continues to practice there today. He currently serves on the MAC teaching staff and has held various positions on the center's board Lazo Sensei was awared the rank of Yondan, or 4th degree black belt, early in 2006.

Josef Birdsong is the chief instructor of Aikido of Austin. He holds the rank of fifth-degree black belt and is a shidoin. He began his training in 1970 in Sacramento, Calif., under the guidance of Mr. Dang Tri, sixth dan. In 1974, Birdsong Sensei moved to Illinois and continued his training under Akira Tohei Shihan, chief instructor of the Midwest Aikido Federation and technical director of the United States Aikido Federation.

Friday

  • 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Saturday

  • 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
  • Lunch
  • 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Cost

  • Both days: $60.00
  • Friday only: $25.00
  • Saturday only: $50.00
